Charles J. Brown II was a multimillionaire oilman who retired at the age of 38. About a year later he made a commitment of his life to Christ to be ready, willing, and able to serve kingdom causes when needed.
I heard a story about a request that once went to Charlie for some personal information to be used in publicizing some Christian meetings. Back came the request form with only two words on it: “Currently available.” A colleague of his wrote, “This is now the story of this man’s life. He has made himself available to Jesus Christ.”
As someone has said, “It’s not ability God is looking for, but availability.” We all have our limitations. We all have our past records of failure and mistakes. We all have our regrets. However, the most important thing about each of us is that we are moving. A person can never make more progress than when he puts himself at God’s disposal.
