Does Going to Church Matter?

Does going to church matter? Let’s ask Henry Brinton, former pastor of Fairfax Presbyterian Church in Virginia. He once wrote of a U.S. president’s church attendance, “Politically, church attendance is a sign of integrity. If the president says he’s a Christian, then going to church shows that he doesn’t just talk the talk, he walks the walk. The best way for [any president] to show that he is a bona fide Christian is to become actively involved in the life of a congregation. Christianity is a communal faith. He should live out his faith by being a part of a Christian community.”

What the Presbyterian preacher said about the president goes for all Christians. A full Christian life cannot be experienced by anyone in isolation. The Lord doesn’t want any homeless Christians. Find you a church home. You need it and the nation needs it also.
