You May Never Know

The old proverb says, “It’s an ill wind that blows no good.”  When the storm winds of life blow your way, when trouble comes, when you experience suffering, look for the good in all of it.

It is not always easy to see, of course. When Winston Churchill, the man who led England safely through World War II, was then defeated in the election of 1945, Lady Churchill said to him, “It may well be a blessing in disguise.”  He is said to have replied, “At the moment it seems quite effectively disguised.”

We may not always know why troubles come into our life. But this much we do know, “Christ is always the closest when the cross is the heaviest.”

Look to him in your difficulties and he will help you through them.
